Zacharias HEINESEN

Zacharias Heinesen was born in 1936 in Torshavn, where he is still residing, and where he still constitutes a firm point of reference for the painting of the Faeroe Islands.

Heinesen studied painting at the Academies of Reykjavik and Copenhagen from 1958 to 1962, and then he went back to the study of his beloved Torshavn, where he painted his landscapes, full of color and light.
